1. Basic directions and perspectives
In Switzerland, cfd is considered the professional organisation for the empowerment of women. Within the public sphere, cfd represents the most prominent voice for feminist politics on peace and ensures that gender and peacebuilding interests are being heard in Switzerland. cfd is active in the field of international co-operation, in migration and peace policies and participates in debates on religion and politics.
2. Services
a) Consultancy and support for organisations on empowerment
cfd provides consultancy support to women’s organisation in the Mediterranean, migrant women’s organisations, public administrations schools and other institutions in Switzerland regarding issues related to empowerment. cfd actively approaches organisations and offers its services.
b) Development of empowerment projects
cfd develops empowerment projects for women in co-operation with experts and partners in the Mediterranean. In the Swiss migration context, cfd develops empowerment concepts and initiates pilot projects.
c) Gender and peacebuilding campaigns
As an actor in feminist politics on peace, cfd launches public campaigns and comments current political developments. cfd stands for values of feminist politics on peace and represents the interests of those women and men that identify with these values hoping to see  them realised and implemented.
d) Services for cfd-members
cfd co-operates with its members. cfd offers members to participate in activities and uses their resources, be it as members of professional commissions or as volunteers contributing to campaigns and events. cfd strives to enlarge its membership basis.
e) Services for church organisations and communities
cfd works closely with church communities and church based organisations. It provides insight into the practical work of projects and activities on peace politics through information sharing and presentations. In return, cfd receives donations. As an actor in feminist politics of peace, cfd develops tailor made trainings for pastors and clergymen and –women.
f) Services for donators and contributors
cfd seeks financial support of donators who identify with cfd’s values. As a return service, cfd engages in empowerment projects and carries out campaigns concerning gender and peacebuilding that represent the interests and values of the donators and contributors.
3. Co-operations and networks
cfd works with organisations of similar profile and values on a project basis, in Switzerland and abroad.
4. Specific competences
cfd combines practice, theoretical reflections and political action.
5. Organisation
cfd recently changed its organisational structure in order to concentrate its resources , improve use of synergies, strengthen the internal co-operation and leadership and mandate external professional resources selectively according to requirements. Through this cfd hopes to increase its presence in Swiss public. The location and office in Zurich has been given up and all the team works now at the headquarter office in Berne.  The new organisational structure consists of three departments:
Migration and peace policies/Switzerland: Consulting of organisations, empowerment projects, campaigns on migration and peace policy issues.
International co-operation: Support of partners and projects, backstopping mandate on gender and peacebuilding, co-operation and participation in campaigns.
Communication and resources: Secretariat, financial administration, PR, Fundraising
6. Finances
cfd strives to enlarge its resource base through concerted and intensified fundraising efforts to avoid the cutback of services and activities. cfd developed a fundraising and PR concept outlining strategies, actions and tools.
The board takes an active stand on the financial policies and development of the organisation. The responsibility for the financial controlling lies with the executive director. The financial administrator and the external finance commission support her.
Project officers have responsibility for the financial administration and budgets of their projects. 
7. Communication, Public Relations and Fundraising
a) Communication
cfd conducts campaigns and communicates its political stand and opinion to raise awareness and to represent the interests of its constituency. A yearly campaign takes on a subject dealing with current issues in the field of feminists policies of peace.  All members of the cfd team participates in these campaigns.
b) PR
cfd regularly informs its members and donators on ongoing activities. Main tools are the quarterly newsletter, cfd annual report, the website as well as project specific information and reporting.
c) Fundraising
cfd targets and adapts its fundraising activities according to different target groups. Of particular interest are church communities and other organisations that share cfd’s values and mission.
