Gender Roles in Wars and Conflicts
Do wars and conflicts really open up new roles for women as emphasized by peace research?
Do men actually enjoy the offer of alternative roles to those that violent circumstances engraved in their mind as being masculine?
Is there a connection between the transformation of gender roles and gender specific violence?

Samar Hawash, director of Centre for women and children of the Palestinian Working Women Society for Development in Nablus; expert on women’s rights and on the political, social and economic consequences of the occupation on women and families.
Lumnije Deqani
, director of the Women’s Wellness Center in Peja, Kosova. This centre offers protection to women afflicted by violence and counsels families and authorities on domestic violence and violence in the family.
Sherifa Bouatta
, Professor of Psychology at the University of Algiers and director of the Algerian Association of Psychologists SARP, managing a Centre for Counseling and Therapy for victims of violence in Sidi Moussa, Algeria.
